A superintendent and an assistant superintendent assigned to oversee 12 exams at an exam center in the Kathmandu Valley have been expelled for misconduct.
The National Exam Board (NEB) expelled superintendent and assistant superintendent assigned for Saipal Academy Secondary Exam Center for not maintaining order in the exam hall.
New superintendent and assistant superintendent have been appointed to their places, the Board has said.
The class 12 exams which kicked off on May 4 will continue till May 16. Over 500,000 students are participating in the exams.
Examinees are barred from carrying phones, smart watches, and electronic devices inside the exam halls.
"Mobile phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices are fully banned inside exam halls," said the notice issued by the NEB, "The exams of all subjects will be cancelled if students are found violating the rule."
Some phones have been seized and those using such communication devices have been expelled from exam halls.
