A fire broke out in two houses at Makhan Galli in Kathmandu on Wednesday morning, leaving one dead. The blaze, which started around 6:45 AM, is still not fully under control despite ongoing efforts by authorities.
The fire originated in a four-story house made of clay and wood owned by Dayaram Shrestha in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-24, behind Suraj Arcade. It then spread to an adjacent five-story concrete house. According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, the fire began on the third floor of Shrestha’s house due to a gas leak and quickly engulfed the neighboring building owned by Rukesh Shrestha.
