Two women killed after being hit by speeding car in Kapilvastu

Two women have died after being hit by a speeding car in Kapilvastu on Friday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Shanta Khatri and Til Kumari Rayamajhi of the same age, informed DSP Mohan Mani Adhikari of District Police Office, Kapilvastu.

The accident occurred when the speeding car struck them at Buddhabhumi Municipality-1, Basantapur. They died on the spot.

"They died after being hit by a speeding car at Basantapur in Buddhabhumi-1 along the Patharkot-Gorusinge road section this morning," said DSP Adhikari, "They were pronounced dead by doctors as soon as they were rushed to the District Hospital, Taulihawa by the police."

The police said they are investigating the case after taking car driver Khimraj Shrestha, 35, following the accident.

The speeding car skidded off the road and landed on the road side after hitting the women.
