A royalist group called the 'Nepal Hindu Nation Reestablishment Forum' has written a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, advocating for the establishment of a Hindu nation along with the reinstatement of the monarchy in Nepal.
While protests have been ongoing in Kathmandu for the past four days demanding a Hindu nation and the restoration of the monarchy in Nepal, the group has indirectly sought support from the Indian government for this cause in the Indian capital, Delhi.
A press conference, organized at the Press Club of India in Delhi on Sunday, revealed that a memorandum was sent to Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking moral, diplomatic, and strategic support to declare Nepal a Hindu nation.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Engineer Bishnu Prasad Baral, the international founding president of the Forum, claimed that in the 17 years since Nepal became a republic, development has not been possible without the monarchy and a Hindu nation.
He stated that they have begun building international pressure from India to restore Nepal as a Hindu nation with the monarchy and, in this process, have submitted a memorandum to the Indian President and Prime Minister.
The press conference was attended by Forum members Yuvraj Baral and Parvati Bam, among others.
