World Cup League 2: Nepal gets 297-run target from Scotland

Nepal has received a 297-run target from host Scotland in the ODI match under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 underway in Scotland.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Forthill Cricket Ground in Dundee, Scotland notched up 296 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Charlie Tear topped the score with 80 runs including 12 fours and 1 six off 72 balls followed by Finlay McCreath with 55 runs including 3 fours and 1 six off 67 deliveries.

Similarly, captain Richie Berrington made 40 runs off 46 deliveries while Matthew Cross contributed 39 runs off 56 balls. Brandon McMullen, Michael Leask, George Munsey and Mark Watt contribued 19, 18, 12, and 10 runs, respectively.

On the bowling side, Rijan Dhakal, Karan KC and Sompal Kami grabbed 2 wickets each giving away, 78, 43 and 66 runs, respectively for Nepal. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane claimed 1 wicket.

Nepal team (playing XI) includes Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki, Rohit Paudel (c), Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane, Rijan Dhakal.

There are Nepal, UAE, Namibia, Canada, Scotland, Oman, Netherlands and America in League 2.

The ODI series which is underway in Scotland can also be watched via icc.tv.

Nepal is playing its 13th match under League-2 while this is the 17th match for Scotland.

Out of 12 series matches played, Nepal is at the bottom with six points from two wins, two draws and eight losses.

Similarly, Scotland is in the fourth place with 20 points from nine wins and five losses out of 16 league matches.
