In a significant step toward improving education and healthcare in Madhesh Province, the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD), with support from the Embassy of China in Nepal and the Youth Pioneer group (CNYP), has handed over two key projects—an education initiative for community schools and a maternal healthcare campaign for Madhesh Provincial Hospital.
The “Enlightening the Future” project provided 144 sets of desks, smartboards, whiteboards, stationery, and 602 uniforms to two schools, aiming to enhance learning environments and promote equitable education.
Meanwhile, the “Aaramdayik Birthing Aviyaan” initiative installed air conditioning in birthing rooms to improve comfort and safety for mothers.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel, who attended the school handover ceremony, expressed gratitude, stating, “This project is not just about resources; it’s an investment in our children’s future. The support from China empowers Nepal’s next generation.”
Similarly, Madhesh Province Assembly Speaker Ramchandra Mandal praised the healthcare initiative, saying, “The upgraded birthing rooms will greatly benefit mothers and newborns, reflecting our shared commitment to community healthcare system. We look forward to deeper Nepal-China collaboration.”
CFRD Country Director Ms. Zou Zhiqiang highlighted the foundation’s long-term efforts in Nepal, including disaster relief, COVID-19 support, and livelihood programs.
As 2025 marks 70 years of China-Nepal diplomatic ties, the event underscored the enduring partnership between the two nations in fostering sustainable development.
