Two individuals have been arrested in Kathmandu on charges of fraud amounting to Rs 110 million, allegedly by promising to send people abroad for employment in the UK.
The arrested individuals are 44-year-old Laxman Parajuli, a resident of Ratuwamai Municipality–10 in Morang, and 47-year-old Arunraj Sharma, a resident of Sabaila Municipality–12 in Dhanusha.
They were arrested by a police team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office on June 8 from Narephant in Koteshwar. The police made the arrest public today.
Additional investigations are ongoing, according to SP and Spokesperson Kaji Kumar Acharya of the Crime Investigation Office.
It is alleged that they cheated 38 people out of 110 million 667 thousand rupees with the false lure of sending them to the UK for employment.
SP Acharya informed that the suspects have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation.
