Opposition parties, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), have continued to obstruct the Parliament.
During the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Monday as well, the lawmakers of RSP and RPP maintained their obstruction.
When Speaker Devraj Ghimire attempted to move the agenda forward, the RSP and RPP lawmakers stood up in protest demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and the formation of a high-level investigation committee over his alleged involvement in the visit visa scandal.
RSP and RPP lawmakers have been continuously disrupting Parliament. In today's meeting, after RSP and RPP lawmakers stood up in protest, Speaker Devraj Ghimire gave time to RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden to speak.
RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden announced a boycott, stating that they would not participate in the parliamentary proceedings as long as the House is run forcibly amid obstructions. "As long as Parliament is being pushed forward forcefully in this manner," he said, "RPP will not participate in this farce. We boycott it."
Following this, RSP lawmakers surrounded the well of the House and began shouting slogans.
However, despite the protests, Speaker Devraj Ghimire proceeded with the parliamentary proceedings in the way as he did yesterday.
