Bharatpur Metropolis presents a budget of over Rs 5 billion 190 million

The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has presented a budget of Rs 5 billion 197 million 660 thousand for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26.

The Deputy Mayor, Chitrasen Adhikari, presented the budget at the 17th municipal assembly today. For the overall management of the budget sources, it is estimated that Rs 1 billion 80 million will be received from internal revenue, Rs 2 billion 157 million 760 thousand from inter-governmental financial transfers, Rs 319 million from federal revenue sharing, and Rs 140 million 441 thousand from provincial revenue sharing.

It was informed in the assembly that Rs 5 million will receive from public participation, Rs 700 million from bank deposits, and Rs 30 million from the Road Board Nepal.

The deputy mayor stated that the budget prioritizes the continuity of incomplete and ongoing projects, urban infrastructure development, agriculture, education, health, and social development. The budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been informed to prioritize urban infrastructure development highly.

An allocation of Rs 600 million has been made to complete incomplete and ongoing projects, Rs 240.5 million for payments of multi-year contracts, and Rs 940.78 for ward-level projects. Rs 40 million has been allocated for partnership to complete the incomplete Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium and Rs 40 million for the construction of the metropolitan administrative building.

The official stated that Rs 90 million has been allocated for the Agriculture and Livestock Development Program.

Similarly, Rs 105 million has been allocated for the educational health program.
