Lightning strike kills minor girl, injures 4 in Makwanpur

A minor girl died after being struck by lightning strikes in Makwanpur district on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as six-year-old Anika Praja of Raksirang Rural Municipality-8, Maisirang.

According to the District Police Office, Makwanpur, the lightning struck Anika and her mother while they were eating food in their house. Anika died on the spot.

Her mother Rabina Praja, 25, sustained critical injuries, with her left leg paralyzed. Rabina has been referred to Hetauda Hospital for treatment, DSP Bishal Sapkota, the chief of Area Police Office, Hanahari, said.

Other three individuals were injured from lightning strikes in Raksirang-9, Chorang, yesterday evening, the police said.
