The new date has been proposed for holding the 12th Convention of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of Nepali Congress, which has failed to hold conventions on time.
General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa proposed the new dates for the convention of the sister organizations during the party's Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting that started today.
In the meeting held at the central party office in Sanepa, Thapa asserted that forming new committees and repeatedly setting new dates would do nothing but hinder the functioning of the organization.
"Regarding the sister organizations, including Nepal Students' Union and Nepal Women Association, that have been unable to hold their conventions, we expect discussions during our ongoing meeting about the current situation and the problems they are facing," Thapa said in the meeting.
Similarly, he also called for directing these organizations, which have been operating on an ad-hoc basis for their failure to hold conventions, to hold their conventions by mid-February 2026.
However, regarding Tarun Dal, he directly proposed new dates. "Tarun Dal's convention be held on December-12-13-14," Thapa proposed.
While General Secretary Thapa was inside the party office hall proposed new dates for Tarun Dal's convention, protesters were staging a sit-in outside, demanding the convention be held.
