Four people have been ruthlessly murdered at Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality in Bhojpur district. One person has been seriously injured in the incident.

Police reported that the bodies of four people were found on Sunday morning in Dhodlekhani Bonthitang of Ramprasad Rai-2. Preliminary investigations suggest that the murder of four members of the same family was due to a domestic dispute, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Shrestha of the District Police Office, Bhojpur.

Shrestha stated that Rajendra Rai, a 30-year-old resident of Bhojpur Municipality-2, Helauchha, went to his in-laws' house and killed four family members using a sharp weapon.

The deceased include Rajendra’s wife, his 45-year-old mother-in-law Manju Giri, his 68-year-old father-in-law Bel Bahadur Giri, and his brother-in-law (whose name is yet to be disclosed).

After the incident, Rajendra Rai also sustained serious injuries while using the weapon himself. Police reported that he was immediately rescued and taken to Bhojpur District Hospital for treatment.

"The incident occurred around 1:15 AM today," DSP Shrestha told Nepalkhabar. "Preliminary investigations suggest that Rajendra Rai went to his in-laws' house, and after a dispute escalated, he attacked his wife and in-laws with a sharp weapon at midnight."

Shrestha informed that police have reached the incident site and are carrying out investigations.
