Nepali Congress Lumbini Province General Secretary Bikram Khanal has been expelled from the party.
A meeting of the NC Central Disciplinary Committee held on July 1 decided to expel Khanal of Nawalparasi on the charge of not supporting official candidates of the party in the Province Assembly and House of Representatives.
Committee coordinator Ananda Prasad Dhungana has informed Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and concerned province and district committees in writing.
Following a complaint lodged against Khanal, he was sought a clarification but after finding his response not satisfactory, he was expelled from the party for one year in line with Article 34 (1) of Statute of Nepali Congress, 2017 BS (with amendments), Dhungana said.
