National Assembly lawmaker of CPN (UML), Bhagawati Neupane, has been appointed as the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration.
President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Neupane as the General Administration Minister on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Sheetal Niwas has said.
The post was lying vacant after Minister Rajkumar Gupta tendered his resignation this morning after being implicated in the bribery scam.
Neupane has been appointed as the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration in line with Article (76 (9) of the Constitution after Minister Gupta resigned from his post in accordance with Article 77 (2a), reads the press note issued by the Office of the President.
Minister Gupta had taken charge as the Minister for General Administration in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Oli on July 15, 2024.
