The Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSP-N) has withdrawn its support to the government.

A parliamentary party (PP) meeting of the JSP held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday took a decision to this effect.

A central work execution committee (CWEC) meeting held on June 23 had direct the PP to withdraw its support to the government.

The JSP's PP meeting officially decided to withdraw its support to the government led by KP Sharma Oli, after reviewing its performance. The JSP-N has presented 11 reasons for withdrawing its support.

Eleven reasons for withdrawing support:

  1. Failure of the government to ensure good governance for the people.
  2. Inability to curb corruption, irregularities, impunity, commission system, and the influence of middlemen.
  3. Failure to reform the country's economy and accelerate economic growth. Presenting an unbalanced and biased budget for the FY 2082/83.
  4. Making no concrete efforts to implement federalism.
  5. Failure to develop agriculture, industry, tourism, and water resources to address issues like poverty and unemployment.
  6. Inability to improve the quality of essential services such as clean drinking water, education, and healthcare, and to ensure their effective delivery to the people.
  7. Failure to establish an equitable and just society by addressing the national issues of oppressed communities such as Madheshis, indigenous nationalities, Dalits, women, marginalized groups, Tharus, and minorities.
  8. Not releasing political prisoners falsely charged during Madhesh, Tharuhat, Kirat-Limbuwan movements, etc.
  9. Making no efforts so far to amend the constitution.
  10. Failure to support farmers by providing agricultural markets, irrigation, fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, and subsidized agricultural loans for agricultural development.
  11. Inability to solve unemployment by creating job opportunities.
