Nepali national women's football team captain Sabitra Bhandari 'Samba' has joined Wellington Phoenix Football Club in New Zealand.

Samba has signed a contract with Wellington for the 2025/26 season to play in Australia's 'A' League. Although Wellington is a New Zealand-based club, it has been competing in Australia's top-division league.

Earlier, Samba spent two seasons with En Avant Guingamp in France. Before joining the French club, she made her European league debut with Hapoel Ra'anana A.F.C. in Israel.
