Pele's family spends Christmas with the ailing legend at hospital

Pele's family has spent Christmas with the 82-year-old football legend at the hospital where he is receiving cancer care.

Pele is receiving treatment at Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the past some time.

The family is sticking close as Pele's cancer progresses. 

Meanwhile, Pele's daughter Kely Nascimento shared emotional photos on social media on Sunday from the hospital.

Pele's daughter took to Instagram on Christmas Day night to thank the hospital for looking after her father along with posting family photos.

The Brazil legend had a tumor removed from his colon in September 2021 but was admitted to hospital on November 29, according to the Daily Mail.

A hospital statement released earlier this week said Pele needed further care 'related to renal and cardiac dysfunctions'.
