Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden on Friday relieved Giri of his responsibilities as the Vice Chairman and the Central Committee member of the party, informed party Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, who is also the chief of the publicity department. Giri was the nominated vice-chairman of the party.

On July 9, Lingden had also removed Nawaraj Subedi from his responsibilities as the chairman of the disciplinary committee and Sugun Sundar Lawoti as the spokesperson.
