Indian nat'l, 45, murdered in Kathmandu; murder-accused held

An Indian national has been murdered in cold blood in Kathmandu.

Subrata Pal, 45, a resident of West Bengal, India, who was staying in a rented room in Nhyokha, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-25, was killed at around 2:45 AM today, the police said.

Meanwhile, the police arrested 42-year-old Shyam Kalikot, a permanent resident of Kakani Rural Municipality, Nuwakot, currently residing in Galkupakha, Kathmandu-26, in connection with Pal's death on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigations carried out by the police reveal that the murder-accused went to Pal's rented room and struck him to death with a hammer.

Kalikot was arrested by the police from Rishikesh Guest House located near New Bus Park in Kathmandu.
