1 dead, 14 injured in microbus mishap near Khotang's Halesi Temple

A person died and 14 others sustained injuries in a road accident that occurred near Halesi Temple in Khotang on Monday morning.

The microbus, Pra 2-01-001 Ja 0053, carrying pilgrims who were returning home after paying homage at Haleshi Temple met with an accident on the Jayaram-Halesi road section under the Mid-Hill Highway.

The microbus had fallen some 200 meters down the road, eye-witnesses said. Six among those injured have been sent to the National Trauma Center in Kathmandu. The eight others are undergoing treatment at a local clinic, said the ward chairman of

Hindu, Buddhist and Kirat devotees from far and near visit Halesi Temple for homage. The Nepali month Shrawan is considered auspicious month for visiting the temple.
