Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs of India,Vikram Misri, is arriving in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Misri is arriving on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Amrit Bahadur Rai.
Issuing a press note on Saturday, the Ministry of External Affairs of India said, "Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri will be on an official visit to Nepal from August 17-18 2025 at the invitation of Foreign Secretary of Nepal, Mr Amrit Bahadur Rai."
India and Nepal are two friendly neighbours who share strong ties that have witnessed concrete progress in the recent years in diverse areas of cooperation, the Indian Ministry said.
"India attaches high priority to its relations with Nepal under its Neighborhood First policy," the Indian Ministry said in its press note, "Foreign Secretary's upcoming visit continues the tradition of regular high level exchanges between the two countries and will be an opportunity to further advance our bilateral ties."
According to a source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Misri will formally invite Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for an official visit to India during his Nepal visit.
Prime Minister Oli has not made an official visit to India since he took charge as the head of the government of Nepal.
