Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai.
Misri landed at Tribhuvan International Airport on an Indian military aircraft IFC 31 a while ago.
He will hold a meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. During the meeting with Prime Minister Oli, Misri will hand over an invitation letter from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, for an India visit, according to the Foreign Ministry.

The Indian side has proposed a visit to India for Oli from September 16 to 17. However, the exact dates of the visit have not been finalized yet.
Foreign Secretary Misri is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the President, hold discussions with the Foreign Minister, the Foreign Secretary, and other officials during his Nepal visit. He will return to India on Monday.
During the visit, the two secretaries -- Misri and Rai-- will hold discussions focusing on various aspects of Nepal-India partnership, including connectivity, development cooperation, and matters of mutual interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
