Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Singha Durbar.

Prime Minister's Chief Political Advisor Bishnu Rimal, officials of the Foreign Ministry and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, were present in the meeting, the Prime Minister's secretariat said.

Misri arrived on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai on Sunday morning to officially invite Prime Minister Oli for an India visit.

The Indian side has proposed a visit to India for Oli from September 16 to 17. However, the exact dates of the visit have not been finalized yet.

Foreign Secretary Misri is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the President, hold discussions with the Foreign Minister, the Foreign Secretary, and other officials during his Nepal visit. He will return to India on Monday, after paying a homage to Pashupatinath Temple.

During the visit, the two secretaries -- Misri and Rai-- will hold discussions focusing on various aspects of Nepal-India partnership, including connectivity, development cooperation, and matters of mutual interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
