Nepal beats HH Academy by 66 runs in Top End T20 Series

Nepal has defeated Hobart Hurricanes Academy by 66 runs in the Top End T20 Series held in Australia.

Nepal bowled out HH Academy for 114 runs in 16.1 overs while the latter was chasing the 181-run target.

To restrict the opponent to such a low target, Nandan Yadav took the highest 5 wickets giving away 17 runs while Rohit Paudel, Rijan Dhakal, Sandeep Lamichhane and Kushal Bhurtel grabbed 1 wicket each for Nepal.

Bradley Hope's 31 target was the highest for HH Academy followed by Charlie Wakim and Zac Curtain with 28 and 21 runs, respectively while Tim Ward scored 13 runs. The other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.

Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Cazalys Arena Palmerston, Nepal notched up 180 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Aarif Sheikh topped the score with 33 runs followed by Aasif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel with 29 and 27 runs, respectively, while Lokesh Bam contributed 25 runs. Similarly, Bhim Sarki scored 18 runs.

In reply, Raf MacMillan and Nivethan Radhakrishnan grabbed 2 wickets each while Marcus Bean, Gabe Bell and Bradley Hope claimed 1 wicket each for HH Academy.
