Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on a five-day official visit to China, has held a bilateral meeting with the President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, deepen economic cooperation and explore new areas of partnership, particularly in trade, tourism and education, the Prime Minister's Secretariat said.
Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to hold meetings with various heads of state and the government including Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu today, apart from addressing the SCO summit.
Earlier, Oli held a bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping after he landed in Tianjin on August 30, the first day of the SCO Summit. He also held a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh yesterday.
After attending the SCO Summit, he will head to Beijing to observe the military drill organized to mark the 80th Anniversary of China's Victory against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War.
Prime Minister Oli will return home on September 3, wrapping up his five-day visit to China.
