A separate political dossier has been registered for submission to the CPN (UML)'s statute general convention.
The political document has been registered at the party's central office in Chyasal, disagreeing in five points, including the decision not to grant former President Bidya Bhandari a UML membership. The 27-page long document has been registered by UML Standing Committee member Karna Bahadur Thapa.
"This is a separate document prepared in opposition to the party decision. It contains a different opinion on all the decisions made since the first general convention," Thapa told Nepalkhabar. "This document counters Chairman KP Sharma Oli's political dossier, Vice Chairman Bishnu Paudel's statute amendment, and the General Secretary's organizational report."
The second statute general convention of UML is being held at Chyasal in Lalitpur from Friday. Thapa said that a different opinion has been submitted to be discussed at the same general convention.
The document expresses disagreement over the non-renewal of implementation of democratization in the UML. It has asserted that one cannot hold a post for more than two terms and the age limit of 70 years should be maintained.
Now, the UML has taken forward a proposal to amend the party statute excluding both these provisions. Both these provisions have been removed from the statute to make Chairman KP Sharma Oli the chairman for a third term.
On July 22, vice-chairpersons Yubaraj Gyawali and Surendra Pandey had written a note of dissent at the Central committee meeting against the party decision not to grant former President Bhandari UML membership.
However, the UML did not include their dissenting opinion in the document sent to the subordinate committees as a party decision.
Senior Vice-chairperson Ishwar Pokharel is also submitting a separate document to the general convention, according to the UML source.
