The second statute convention of the CPN (UML is beginning from today. The convention will be inaugurated by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chairman of the UML, at 11 am on Friday at the Godawari Convention Center in Lalitpur.
According to Dr. Bhishma Raj Adhikari, secretary at the UML Central Office, a total of 2,341 participants, including 2,026 representatives will attend the Convention.
The UML has stated that there will be no traditional programs such as inaugural and welcome speeches. The inauguration ceremony will last only 12 minutes.
The inauguration ceremony will feature the Mangal Dhun (auspicious tune), a mourning tune in memory of the martyrs, the national anthem, and the international communist song.
During the inauguration ceremony, while the tunes are being played inside the hall, artists will be creating arts outside in the media center.
The slogan of the statute convention is "Decisive national power building is our resolution; prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali is the national goal." According to Dr. Bhishma Raj Adhikari, secretary at the UML Central Office, the hall can accommodate 2,840.
Four entry gates have been constructed for entering the convention hall. Only Oli will enter through the first gate. Other officials, ministers, and chief ministers will enter through the second and third gates along with the representatives.
There are six computer booths for scanning identification. Representatives, observers, and volunteers will receive entry passes from these booths. The final gate has been kept open for transporting food items and drinking water. After entering the convention hall through the second and third gates, a full-length portrait of Oli and the logo of the statute convention have been placed.
A 2,200-square-foot digital board has been installed inside the hall. A media center has been arranged adjacent to the wall of the hall. The identification cards of representatives and observers will be scanned again when entering the hall, not just at the main gate.
Only 18 officials will be seated on the stage. The stage has been divided into two sections. Chairman Oli will sit in the front section, while the other officials will be seated in the back section according to protocol.
At the convention, Oli will present the political report. Following that, Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the proposal regarding statute amendments, and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel will present the organizational report as per the agenda.
