Former President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has said that the approach of sustainable development goals should not be confined to economic and physical development alone.

He stated that equal importance must be given to education, social progress, and technological advancement in the implementation of these goals.

During his address to an International Seminar on Interdisciplinary Studies for Sustainable Development, the former President underlined the need for transformative leadership dedicated to the welfare of the society and social justice. He also urged youths to take the roles of responsible and visionary leadership.

Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University, Dr Achyut Wagle said that interdisciplinary studies provide students with opportunities to explore multi-dimensional thinking, foster innovation, and build stronger connections with the community.

Program Chair Badri Dev Pande said such international seminars inspire youth to pursue paths towards transformative leadership.

Principal of National College, Madhav Neupane, stated that the two-day seminar (organized on September 4-5) held extensive discussions on sustainable development, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches, education-community relations, and the sustainability of digitalization.

Representatives from various educational institutions, researchers, students and social workers participated in the event.
