India has appealed to neighboring country Nepal to exercise restraint and address any issues through peaceful means and dialogue.

Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the Indian Embassy said, "As a close friend and neighbor, we hope that all concerned will exercise restraint and address any issues through peaceful means and dialogue."

Meanwhile, the Embassy has advised the Indian nationals to exercise caution and adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by the Nepali authorities in view of the curfew imposed by the authorities of Nepal.

The embassy has also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and wished speedy recovery for those who sustained critical injuries.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of many young lives and. Our thoughts and prayers are with families of deceased. We also wish speedy recovery for those who were injured," reads press the statement.

Nineteen people – including 17 in Kathmandu and two in Sunsari – were killed during the demonstration staged by Gen Z across the country on Monday. They had upped the ante against the corruption, irregularities, nepotism and, lately, the social media ban imposed by the government.
