Nepali Congress General Secretary duo Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma have made an appeal to resolve the present political crisis through the peaceful dialogues, restraints and democratic process.

Issuing a nine-point statement today, they asserted that the present crisis should be resolved through the democratic process without relinquishing important achievements of representation, justice and inclusivity laid down in the Constitution of Nepal, 2015."

"We should seek the solution to the present political crisis in line with the Constitution of Nepal, 2015," they said in the statement, "Renouncing the achievements of representation, justice and inclusivity is to invite another uprising. We will put all our efforts to defend these achievements."

The general secretaries in the statement have also expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and properties in the massive protests staged by Gen Z and wished speedy recovery of the injured.

"We make an earnest appeal to all sides including Gen Z to exercise maximum restraint and stand united to rebuild and restore peace in the aftermath of the demonstrations staged on September 8 and 9," reads the press note.

Meanwhile, they have strongly condemned the ruthless attack on the people including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and arson attacks carried out on public facilities including Singha Durbar, Sheetal Niwas, Federal Parliament Building and Supreme Court, incurring a loss of millions of rupees.

They also expressed belief that the untoward incident arose not due to the intension of Gen Z, but due to infiltration of interest groups, calling for a high level committee to investigate the arson attacks and loss of lives and properties during the unrest.

In the appeal, they have also urged all NC leaders, members, supporters and well-wishers not to get distracted but stand united at this time of this crisis, assuring of a massive overhaul in the party in the future.

"We are seriously reviewing the irregularities, corruption and our failure to assess the grievances of the youths, nor could we intervene it on time and hold the government accountable," reads the press note, "We are committed to bring overhaul in Nepali Congress from the leadership down to the grassroots level in the future."
