Gen Z Uprising: 51 including 3 police officials and 1 Indian killed

The number of casualties from the massive Gen Z demonstration that occurred across the country including the Kathmandu Valley on September 8 and 9 has climbed to 51.

Of them, three deceased are police personnel, one Indian and the remaining are Nepali nationals, according to SSP Ramesh Thapa of Nepal Police.

Nineteen people died from the police gunshots on September 8 while the remaining succumbed to their gunshot wounds afterwards in the course of treatment.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, as many as 1,872 people were injured during the two-day Zen Z uprising. Of them, 1,465 injured have been discharged after treatment while 299 are still undergoing treatment at 33 hospitals.

According to the ministry, the highest number of injured 53 are undergoing treatment at B and C Hospital in Jhapa, 35 are at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC), and 32 injured are being treated at National Trauma Center.

Similarly, 28 injured are undergoing treatment at Nepal Police Hospital, 25 at TU Teaching Hospital while 23 inured are undergoing treatment at Civil Service Hospital.
