The death toll in the Gen Z movement that took place on September 8 and 9 has reached 72, informed Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal.
According to Chief Secretary Aryal, 72 people, including 59 protesters, 10 prisoners and 3 security personnel, were killed in the movement.
The government has declared those who died during the Gen Z movement as martyrs.
Similarly, the interim government has decided to provide Rs 1 million to the families of the deceased and provide treatment to all those injured in the uprising.
Police have stated that only 41 of the deceased have been identified so far.
All the deceased have not yet been identified. Bodies are being found while cleaning up the burnt areas. Police have stated that six bodies were found at Chuchepati-based Bhatbhateni in Chabahil this morning alone.
