Newly appointed Minister for Energy, Water Resources, Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, has assumed office.
Assuming his office at Singha Durbar a while ago, Ghising said he would leave no stone unturned to collect arrears of dedicated and trunk lines.
"The country is undergoing through economic and political crisis. Entrepreneurs, Nepali people in the country and abroad should contribute from their side to bail the country from this current crisis," said Ghising," I have instructed to collect the arrears of dedicated and trunk lines. I have put this task on top priority."
There had been a dispute with the Oli-led government on the issue of recovering the arrears of dedicated and trunk lines while Ghising was the Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
Then Energy Minister had sought clarifications time and again from Ghising when he took a stand to recover the arrears.
After a series of clarifications, Minister Khandka removed him as MD of NEA a few months before the expiry of his tenure.
Similarly, Minister Ghising said he would adopt a zero tolerance policy at the ministries and its subordinate units.
Since the abolishment of corruption and irregularities is the major demand of Gen Z movement, Minister Ghising claimed that he would leave no stone unturned to eradicate it. Ghising said this while assuming this office.
He further said that the officials at the ministeries would be reshuffled based on the policy of 'Right Man in Right Place in Right Time'.
Ghising has been appointed as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development.
Three ministers Rameshwar Khanal, Ghising and Om Prakash Aryal have taken the oath of office and secrecy. President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to them amidst a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas a while ago.
Prime Minister Sushila Karki picked them as the ministers in consultation with the Gen Z groups on Sunday evening.
Former Chief Justice Karki was appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal with the backing of the Gen Z movement that toppled the Oli-led government.
