Nepali Congress is not in a mood to appoint an acting president of the party, immediately.

A meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee (CWEC) convened at the central party office in Sanepa, took a decision to this effect.

Similarly, the meeting also decided not to call a special convention of the party, said Deputy General Secretary Mahendra Yadav.

"The CWEC meeting decided to neigher appoint an acting president of the party immediately nor to call a special General Convention of the party," said he.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka.

Nepali Congress, which was overthrown from power following a two-day Gen Z movement on September 9, decided not to take decision on the appointment of acting presidency and the announcement of special convention until President Sher Bahadur Deuba fully recovers.

A large number of irate protestors barged into the House of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on September 9 and assualted him and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba. Their houses are badly burned down. They are currently undergoing treatment. Similarly, the central party office of Nepali Congress were also vandalized and set on fire. Today's CWEC meeting took place at the same vandalized and charred office.
