Minister for External Affairs of India, Dr S Jaishankar, has extended best wishes to the Government of Nepal on the occasion of its National Day on Friday.

Posting an X message a while ago, Indian Foreign Minister wrote, "Best wishes to the Government and people of Nepal on their National Day." He also committed to further deepening of multifaceted partnership between Nepal and India in the X message on the occasion.

The Modi administration seems to have been positive toward the newly formed interim government of Nepal led by Karki. Earlier External Affairs Ministry of India had congratulated Mrs Karki on her appointment as the Prime Minister Karki. Similarly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with her Nepali counterpart on Thursday. During the meeting, Modi reaffirmed India's support in Nepal's efforts to restore peace, stability and reconstruction as per the priorities of Nepal.

The Nepal government organized an event to mark the Constitution Day, also known as National Day, amidst a ceremony at Nepali Army Pavilion in Tundikhel, Kathmandu this morning.

This was the first ever event organized to mark the Constitutional Day following the formation of the interim government led by Karki. Karki was appointed as the Prime Minister of Nepal following the Gen Z movement that toppled the Oli-led government on September 9.

Besides President Ramchandra Paudel, who was invited as the chief guest of the program, Chief of Army Staff, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers among other high-ranking officials attended the event.

Prime Minister Karki had delivered a speech on the occasion. The event was organized in a simpler manner and excluded many programs like, parachuting, procession, parade, cultural tableau, showjumping, etc., unlike in the previous year.
