Dr Sangita's name has been removed from the to-be-appointed list of ministers of the interim government of Nepal.

However, Sangita's name has been removed from the list this morning reportedly over citizenship dispute and irregularities.

Prime Minister Karki had recommended Dr Mishra as the Minister for Health and Population among the five list of ministers to the Office of the President on Monday.

"The list of ministers recommended to the President yesterday has been rectified," a cabinet source told Nepalkhabar, "Mishra's name has been removed from the list."

Education Minister Mahabir Pun, Industry Minister Anil Kumar Sinha, Agriculture Minister Madan Pariyar and Communication Minister Jagdish Kharel have been recommended to President Ramchandra Paudel. They are being sworn in as ministers at 2 pm today.

The portfolio of the Health Ministry has been left vacant for the time being, according to a source at the Council of Ministers.

Dr Mishra, senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, is the Additional Health Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population for the last three years.

She had been on leave after Dr Bikash Devkota was promoted to the post of secretary last year.

Earlier, Rameshwar Khanal (Finance), Kulman Ghising (Energy, Urban Development and Physical Infrastructure) and Om Prakash (Home and Law) have been appointed as ministers.

President Paudel dissolved the cabinet and appointed former Chief Justice as the Prime Minister of Nepal following the Gen Z movement that toppled the Oli-led government.

She has been mandated to hold the general elections on March 5, 2026.
