Direct air services between India and China are likely to resume by mid-October.
Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India, made this announcement through a social media post.
According to the Indian MEA, technical discussions have been ongoing between the civil aviation authorities of both countries to progressively normalize the relationship between India and China.
The objective of the discussions was to resume direct air services between India and China and to reach an agreement on a new air services agreement.
Following discussions on this matter, an agreement has been reached that direct air services connecting selected cities in India and China may resume within a few weeks.
The Ministry of External Affairs of India states that this agreement will further improve the people-to-people contact between India and China.
