Thirty-eight confirmed dead, 11 missing in rain-induced disasters across country

Thirty-eight people have died and 13 others sustained injuries across the country in disaster-related incidents, the Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, said.

According to the police, eleven people are missing due to natural disasters. The Armed Police Force reported that 28 deaths and two serious injuries from floods and landslides alone occurred in Ilam district.

Shailendra Thapa, deputy spokesperson for the Armed Police Force, stated that five people died in Suryodaya Municipality, six in Ilam Municipality, two in Deumai Municipality, one in Phakphokthum Rural Municipality, three in Mangsebung Rural Municipality, eight in Maijogmai Rural Municipality and three others died in Sandakpur Rural Municipality due to rain-induced disasters.

Additionally, two people died in Udayapur, three in Rautahat, four in Rasuwa, and one lost his life in Kathmandu due to floods and landslides.

Eight people were injured by lightning in Khotang, Bhojpur, Rautahat, and Makwanpur.

Similarly, six people died and six others sustained injuries in a vehicle accident that took place on the Tamor corridor in Panchthar district.
