A video showing Bipin Joshi of Nepal, who is held captive by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, is set to be released.

The Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post has reported that the Hostage Family Forum announced that they will release Bipin's video this evening.

The Post also mentioned that the Joshi family stated the video, which is about to be released, gives them confidence that Bipin is alive.

"This proof of life found in Gaza, which we are sharing with you today, gives us unwavering faith that he is alive," the Post quoted the Joshi family as saying.

The Post further stated that the video was found by the Israeli intelligence agency.

However, Eylon Levy, former spokesperson for the state of Israel, wrote on X that the Israeli military found a video filmed by Hamas one month after Bipin was taken hostage.

Joshi had gone to Israel three weeks ahead of the October 7, 2023 massacre for an agricultural education program. He was abducted from Kibbutz Alumim, where several other Nepali nationals resided.

According to a Wall Street Journal report in November 2023, he had risked himself to save lives of all those hiding in his shelter, as two grenades entered the windowless room before he grabbed them and threw one back outside. The second, according to the report, was not so successful, exploding and severely injuring five of his friends.

Very few signs of life had been received of Joshi, aside from a video, at one point, showing he was held in Shifa Hospital, the central hospital in the Gaza Strip.
