Nepal and Japan have secured their spots in the Super Six of the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers.
Nepal and Japan's Super Six qualification was confirmed even before their face-off, following Japan's five-wicket win over Kuwait on Thursday.
Nepal and Japan will play each other on Friday. The winner of this match will carry two points into the Super Six stage.
Kuwait has crashed out of the group stage matches. Kuwait, which had lost its first match to Nepal by 58 runs, scored 177 runs for the loss of 6 wickets against Japan but couldn't save the match.
In the Qualifiers held in Oman, Kuwait, batting first, set a target of 178 runs, which Japan chased down with 5 wickets in hand and three balls to spare.
Ishan Rahman played a decisive inning, scoring 64 runs off 39 balls, to help Japan meet the mammoth target.
