Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagdish Kharel, has said the contract-based employees should be enlisted with the social security fund (SSF).
As the government employees are provided with pension, those working on contract basis must be ensured SSF facility, Minister Kharel said, while monitoring the office of the Minimum Remuneration Fixing Committee Office. "Government is committed to bring the media persons under the SSF scheme," he shared.
According to him, the government has underlined the need of bringing the informal sector workers into the SSF facility. Concrete policy and budget would be put in place to this end, he informed.
On the occasion, Committee Chairperson Sangita Khadka, viewed once those working on contract basis were brought under SSF, it would benefit thousands of employees.
