Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who was taken hostage by the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, has been confirmed dead. Hamas has placed Bipin in the list of dead hostages and is handing over his dead body to Israel today itself.

According to The Jerusalem Post, an English online news portal of Israel, Hamas has named four deceased hostages including Bipin to be released on Monday evening.

The others deceased hostages, as named by Hamas, include Guy Illouz, Yossi Sharabi, and Daniel Peretz, IDF Chief Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Deffrin confirmed to The Post.

As per the ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel brokered by American President Donald Trump, Hamas today released 20 living hostages out of 48 in exchange for 2,000 Palestinians held hostage by Israel.

The remaining 28 dead hostages would be returned in phases, according to the deal.

Bipin, who had gone to Israel under 'Learn and Earn' program' had been taken hostage during the Hamas' October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
