The bodies of two Nepali young women who died in a fire in the European country of Romania have been repatriated to Nepal.
The bodies of 21-year-old Soni Limbu of Mai Municipality-7, Ilam, and 24-year-old Sushmita Tamang of Dakshinkali Municipality-9, Kathmandu, who died in a fire at Hotel Daly in Tătarani, Prahova, Romania on September 29, were sent to Nepal today.
"'Soni, Sushmita, and the body of Birendra Kumar Thakur of Dhanusha, who died in an accident on September 26, repatriated to Nepal yesterday evening via the flight of Turkish Airlines," Sagar Prasad Phuyal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in Berlin, Germany, told Nepalkhabar. "The bodies of all three will arrive in Kathmandu on the morning of October 19th."
Deputy Chief Phuyal said that the respective families of the deceased have already been informed.
Soni had arrived in Romania for employment one year ago and Sushmita five months ago. They lived on the top floor of the hotel where they worked, and they died in a fire caused by an electric short circuit.
Soni and Susmita died at the scene of the fire, while Sumina Magar of Chulachuli Rural Municipality-3, has been discharged following treatment.
