The floodlights have been turned on at the international cricket ground being built on the premises of Tribhuvan University (TU) in Kirtipur.

On the day of Laxmi Puja this evening, the lights were switched on for four of the six floodlight high-mast poles at the cricket stadium. With the illumination from the four high-mast poles, the TU Cricket Ground is now brightly lit.

All six floodlight towers were erected just on Sunday. The construction company completed the work of raising all six poles after setting up two poles in a single day.

The stadium is equipped with six high-mast lights, weighing 30 tons each, with heights of 45 and 60 meters. Floodlights have been partially installed on poles number 1, 4, 5, and 6. Project Chief Chakrawarti Kantha informed that since the poles have been erected, the work of installing lights on the remaining two will now begin.

Kulman Ghising, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, inspected the under-construction international-standard cricket ground on October 9.

Both construction contractors had pledged to complete the installation of the parapet and floodlights before the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The contractor for the parapet construction has already completed their work.

The NPL is scheduled to begin on November 17.
