UML to move ahead with both poll preparations and HoR reinstatement: Deputy Gen Secy Gyawali

Pradeep Gyawali, the Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (UML), announced that his party is committed to moving ahead with both the preparations for elections and the reinstatement of Parliament.

During a meeting with party members in Sunawal today, he pointed out that the current government has failed to create a conducive environment for elections scheduled for March 5, 2026, reiterating that the party has not forsaken the goal of restoring the dissolved Parliament.

Deputy General Secretary Gyawali highlighted the importance of reinstating Parliament to meet the aspirations of the younger generation, particularly 'Gen-Z'. He raised alarms regarding election security, mentioning that weapons taken from security forces during protests and over five thousand prisoners remaining unaccounted for.

"Nonetheless, thoughtful progress is achievable. Following an unbiased investigation into the incidents of arson and vandalism occurred on September 8 and 9 during the Gen-Z demonstrations, a basic understanding can be reached through discussions with Gen-Z representatives," he said.

The UML Deputy General Secretary further noted that the party's general convention will ultimately determine the party's leadership matters.
