USA has set a 263-run target for Nepal in the first match of the ICC World Cup League 2 tri-series.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at Dubai International Stadium, USA notched up 262 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Smit Patel topped the score with 75 runs including 9 fours off 100 balls followed by Milind Kumar with 70 runs. Kumar hit 6 fours and 2 sixes off 50 balls. Similarly, Saiteja Mukkamall scored 42 runs, Subham Ranjane 19, Harmeet Singh 16, Andries Gous and Shayan Jahangir 11 runs each while captain Monank Patel contributed 10 runs.
The other batsmen could not score significant runs.
In reply, Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets giving away 56 runs while Dependra Singh Airee, Aasif Sheikh and Sompal Kaki grabbed 1 wicket each for Nepal. UAE, Nepal and USA are participating in the tri-series.
Nepal's second match in the series will be against UAE. The remaining fixtures include a rematch against USA on Saturday, followed by a final game against UAE next Wednesday.

Nepal is in seventh place with 12 points from 16 matches (5 wins, 9 losses, 2 draws).
USA is in second place with 28 points from 20 matches (14 wins, 6 losses).
UAE is at the bottom of the table with 6 points from 16 matches (3 wins, 13 losses).
