Govt sets Jan 25 for NA elections

The government has set the date for holding the elections for the National Assembly.

A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to hold the National Assembly elections on January 25, next year, informed Communications Minister Jagdish Kharel.

The term of 19 lawmakers of the National Assembly is expiring on March 4.

The elections for the posts becoming vacant must be held one month before the current term expires, as per the constitutional provision.
