Four climbers, who sustained injuries in the avalanche that occurred in the Rolwaling Valley, Dolakha, on Monday, have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment, after rescue.
"Four people injured in the avalanche were rescued from the site and airlifted to Kathmandu this morning for treatment," DSP Mahato said, adding, "Three dead bodies are still at the scene."
Three people were confirmed dead, four sustained injuries and eight others went missing in the avalanche that occurred near the base camp of Yalung Ri peak, according to Assistant Chief District Officer Aulakh Bahadur Ale.
The incident site is approximately 250km north-east from the Kathmandu Valley,
Although efforts were made yesterday afternoon to rescue the injured and search for the missing, the mission was unsuccessful due to poor weather conditions. Hence, the rescue operations started only this morning.
According to DSP Mahato, four climbers, who sustained injuries in the avalanche, had managed to arrive at the base camp.
A 15-member team, including Nepali guides, had set out from Na village on Monday morning to climb the 5,630-meter Yalung Ri peak.
