Leaders of the Nepali Congress, who are in favor of party's special general convention, have organized a separate gathering in Kathmandu today.
The group that was dissatisfied with party leadership for long due to various reasons organized the special gathering at Thapagaun in New Baneshwor. The group was dissatisfied with the leadership for not taking any concrete decision regarding the 15th General Convention.
A large number of general convention representatives, central committee members, province-level leaders, regional representatives and dissatisfied leaders and cadres were present in the gathering.
On the occasion, leader Devraj Chalise blamed the party leadership for not paying attention on important decisions of party organization since long, adding special general convention was indispensable to strengthen party's internal democracy.

"There is no alternative to hold special general convention to strengthen NC's role and address dissatisfaction surfaced in the party," he shared.
Chalise mentioned that signatures of 2,488 general convention representatives across the country were collected on October 14 demanding special general convention and submitted it to acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka.
In today's special gathering, leaders-- Guru Raj Ghimire, NC Lumbini Province President Amar Singh Pun, former lawmaker Jagadish Narsingh KC, among other leaders demanded to call the special general convention immediately to reform party and strengthen party organization.
NC central committee members-Ajay Babu Siwakoti and Pratima Gautam were also present in the special gathering.
