The unity convention organized by nine communist parties including CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist) has started at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Respected leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, who was in a mood not to join the unity convention only yesterday, has also participated in the national unity convention. The convention will formally announce the name of the new party, 'Nepali Communist Party'.

Khanal agreed to join the unity convention following the meeting with Prachanda this morning, the coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Center).
The convention started at Bhrikuti Mandap following the alliance between nine communist parties on Tuesday.
CPN, CPN (Socialist), Janasamajbadi Party, Nepal, Nepal Socialist Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Maoist Socialist), CPN (Communist) and Deshbhakta Samajbadi Morcha are involved in the unity convention.
